Change in Life

Internet has changed our way of life. Internet is the revolution in Information Technology. Thanks to this technology which gives me opportunity to express globally whatever I think. Every thing has got its pros and cons so do internet. The internet has given us comfortable opportunity to be in the sedentary mode which leads to an adverse effect to our health.

To access any information which required some leg work has now condensed to few mouse clicks. This latest trend has to be adopted with essential changes in our routine. Some science fiction has portrayed the structure of evolved man as an ugly fat big headed person with long fingers of hands having less muscular arms and legs.

Now this is up to us,

What kind of change in our life we do?

A Loss Business

Choosing cigarette smoke is taking up to commit gradual suicide at the cost of momentary joy. It is really distressing watching people choosing this path. In today’s scenario the air that we breathe today is filled with ozone, nitrogen oxides and fuel emissions which causes of cough.

The first line of defence against these pro-oxidants is called epithelial lining fluids. From your nose to the tip of your lungs the cells are covered with thick mucous linings. The epithelial cells also have cilia, which form a very fine brush. The brush border sweeps back outside the inhaled foreign particles which may include bacteria and viruses. The mucous, cilia and underlying epithelia form first line of defence and is extraordinary effective in preventing infections. The natural protection of lungs is so effective that most of the time these pollutants do not come in contact with the epithelial line. All these work together to neutralize all the pollutants we inhale and thus protect underlying lung tissue. Vitamin C is the most prominent anti oxidant in this protective fluid lining. It is not only an important antioxidant in this fluid but also has the ability to regenerate the other essential components (Vitamin E and Glucothione).

Exposure to airborne pollutants can overwhelm the antioxidant system found in this protective lining. When this happens an inflammatory immune response occours. The fluids in the lining of the lungs become very thick as the immune response attracts in many white cells that attack the invading pollutants. Initially invaders are quickly cleared out but later on an inability to to terminate or control the inflammatory response can cause marked damage to the lung tissue and impair function. The chronic inflammation is the lung causes significant fatigue and a depleted immune system. Researchs conducted over the past decade has since deduced that the underlying cause of aasthma and many chronic lung disease is the result of oxidative stress.

Happiness - A Perception

Life is the most precious thing in the world. I am not putting forward a new thought, every one already knows it. Life is a journey and all of us are bound to move ahead in some way. We can never stop the time machine, even if we try doing so. Life is also about perceptions, and in many ways life itself is a perception.

How about keeping an eye on your thoughts and perceptions?

There are many ways in which we can live our life, but each one of us does it in only one way. Perception is a base of how we perceive things; we behave accordingly and the integration of our day to day behaviour becomes our life. All of us are trying to lead our lives in the best possible way. But that is not enough. Along with that, we should also have check on our perceptions by practice of conscious effort. We should give respect to other's point of view. How we live our life is, in the ultimate analysis, the effect of the way we perceive the things.

I never thought of this concept until one of my friends discussed it with me. I found it to be quite significant, as one's world is linked with his or her perceptions, and these , in turn, are directly linked with observing capacity of ones mind. How we conceive anything is a subject for study in itself, and an interesting one at that.

It is said in some Buddhist teachings that at any particular moment our mind has the probability of acting in 3600 different ways but the manifestation is in only one way. Our selection of one action out of the 3600 different choices available to us is what represents us.

The significance of this concept lies in the fact that we can, in some ways, keep a check on our manifested choice. The conflict in the ideas of different people is a result of their different manifested choices. Most people are always satisfied with their choice or conviction. And once the choice is made, it is really hard for us to accept the choices made by others. Being confident and happy with our decisions is a good thing, but what should be kept in mind is that their might be some other ways by which we are happier, and we even make others happy.

Unknowingly, or deliberately, our main purpose is to be happy and stay that way for our entire lives.

Happy Go Lucky

This is in continuation to the previous post and is to promote thoughts of Professor Richard Wiseman, University of Hertfordshire

He gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to look through it and tell me how many photographs were inside. He had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper saying: "Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win £250."

This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than two inches high. He was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it. Unlucky people are generally tenser than lucky people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected.

As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to parties intent on finding their perfect partner and so miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements and miss other types of jobs.

Lucky people are more relaxed and open , and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for. My research eventually revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four principles. They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

He asked a group of volunteers to spend a month carrying out exercises designed to help them think and behave like a lucky person. Dramatic results these exercises helped them spot chance opportunities, listen to their intuition, expect to be lucky, and be more resilient to bad luck. One month later, the volunteers returned and described what had happened. The results were dramatic: 80% of people were now happier, more satisfied with their lives and, perhaps most important of all, luckier.

Getting Luckier

Why do some people get all the luck while some don't get the breaks they deserve?

A psychologist says he has discovered the answer:

This post is to promote thoughts of Professor Richard Wiseman, University of Hertfordshire

Ten years ago, He set out to examine luck. He wanted to know why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience ill fortune. He placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky to contact me.

Hundreds of extraordinary men and women volunteered for his research work and over the years, He interviewed them, monitored their lives and had them take part in experiments.

The results reveal that although these people have almost no insight into the causes of their luck, their thoughts and behavior are responsible for much of their good and bad fortune. Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

He carried out a simple experiment to discover whether this was due to differences in their ability to spot such opportunities.

Towards the end of the work, He wondered whether these principles could be used to create good luck. He asked a group of volunteers to spend a month carrying out exercises designed to help them think and behave like a lucky person.

An Endeavor for Psychosomatics

Along with evolution blogging I will be sharing some of intersting case studies from my dairy. I and my some of my known ones have practically encountered these incidents during the journey of life. Most of these cases are regarding the Complex Human Behaviors & I tried a little to comprehend it by applying Psychosomatic Engineering at our level best...

I have'nt got any formal education in the subject of Psychology but I was laways keen on observing it in my sorroundings.

This is the begin of Year 2008. This is my space to express. I am glad to write here... I have got many plans to create this kind of journal, lets see together what is hidden there in the stomach of future. As of now my plan for this journal is to post a case study on every weekend from my surroundings along with the problem definition and how it would had gone under ideal cirumstances.

Resolution

This is the perfect time of the year for resolutions, so here we are with some tips which will help you to stick to your resolutions.

1. Don’t skip resolution as you think you won’t be able to stick to them. Remember every one is struggling to Change for Good. You are equally eligible to resolve and your little endeavor can make a significant change in shaping your life.

2. Don’t be blurred about your resolutions; clearly define and jot them down in your personal diary. (In case you don’t have a personal diary, go and get a good one for yourself.)

3. Remind yourself of your resolutions constantly, and plan how you are going to implement them.

4. Identify your habits that may be barriers to the new resolutions.

5. Have a plan to overcome these barriers - renegotiation with yourself may be needed.

6. Analyze yourself critically almost everyday on how you are faring with respect to the New Year resolution. Do not forget to take corrective measures immediately.

7. Do not be a perfectionist -few slip ups are OK. Don't give up because of the slip ups. Expect resistance and disinterest in you initially. It is normal to have resistance.

8. Allow a months time for the new habit to set in.

9. Don’t keep yourself aloof, take the support of your close ones to help you to build this new habit.

10. Allow time before the fun begins. Enjoy the fun and the feel good when it occurs. Nurture the fun and talk about it to others.

Hope these steps will help you. Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year, 2008!
